You keep ownership of your writing. Free TXT and complete JSON workspace downloads remain available when a paid plan ends, so you can take your manuscript to another writing tool.
Where is my writing saved?
Your workspace saves on this device and syncs to your account when connected. Check the save indicator before changing devices. Browser storage can be cleared, so keep a downloaded backup outside SagaFold too.
Who processes my writing?
Account storage and sync use service infrastructure. When you request an AI action, text and relevant context are sent to the configured AI provider. External assistants you connect can read data within the permissions you grant. Review and revoke those connections in Settings.
Account privacy is not end-to-end encryption. SagaFold does not use your writing to train models without separate, explicit permission. See the privacy policy for the current explanation.
What is included in a backup?
The JSON file contains this workspace’s projects, every saved draft version, plans, uploaded character and shot references, notes, tasks, timelines, and preferences. It does not include account credentials, billing records, or external conversations. TXT contains only the selected Release Version of each section.
What if I leave or stop paying?
Your existing writing remains readable and free to export when paid access ends. Plan limits can pause additional writing; they do not turn your existing drafts into paid downloads. Keep an independent backup: no online service can guarantee storage forever.
For account deletion or an account-level data request, contact support. A workspace backup is a private, unencrypted file; store it securely.
